This lady is  Valeria Lukyanova from Russia. She has undergo plastic surgery to turn herself look this way. She described herself as the most popular women in Russian cyber world. In fact, it is true and not only in Russia, her fans were all around the world. To know more about her click her.

And she look this way before the surgery

One day, you log in to your Facebook and  you see the following picture below:

Without reading the caption, I bet you may think, somebody hit her or she has involve in an accident?

She has undergo plastic surgery.

*****Before I start any discussion, I would like to emphasise, anything I post in the following below is just my personal opinion, but not to offence anyone and this is only for my assignment purpose for this week. *****

Leng Yein’s story is quite similar like Valeria Lukyanova. Last year, Leng Yein is awarded as the Most Popular Race Queen Model of the Year and the Most Popular Social Media Model of the year. In fact, she is very active in social media, especially Facebook, and it is since the generation of Friendster. Her fans can find anything about her or even have conversation with her in Facebook, because she do update her newsfeed almost everyday. However, it is because she open for everyone to make comment on her Facebook. Her posts or pictures always attacked by the people who doesn’t like her. People even create topics in forums, such as Lowyat and Cari.com, to discuss about her. Lowyat and Cari.com are known as the most Malaysian use ‘s forum. Sometime as a third party, I feel so hurtful to read the comments because the words they use is very offensive.

VISIT TO LENG YEIN, discover the truth!

The social media allows everyone to have freedom of speech, as long as doesn’t across the law and regulation. ABC has open the door for the public   to voice out their opinion, however, the teams had got into troubles due to insufficient managing (Martin 2012). Besides,  I think Leng Yein faces the similar things, she may intend to get herself famous by posting everything about herself or maybe this is who she is. For example, few years back, she posted the pictures about the progress of plastic surgeries from the beginning till the recovery of her in Facebook, the series of pictures are commented by many people and  later it has been published on the news. According to Leng Yein, the media is misleading the public, the following video is her’s respond after the incident:

Leng Yein did posted  some comments about “If you doesn’t like me, please leave my Facebook page” in the past, but still many people are attacking her in the cyber world. Couldry (2009) urged that listening is equally important like speaking, where people should listen to the fact and then make judgement. In the cyber world, it always happen that people do not know the fact but blindly following the rest. In cyber world doesn’t mean an individual do not need to show face and he/she allow to say anything they want. Most of the time, cyber user make comments by wording, we can’t see how the person facial expression, body languages and the tone they use. For example, “What to you think then?” , this sentence can be interpret differently in real life. In my opinion, people like Leng Yein have to be aware of what they posting. But the most important things is- if everyone can behave and filter what they want to say before they publish it in the cyber world, why we need this topic?

I believed or expect, majority of people would choose B from the three items posted in the beginning. It is because human prefer beautiful and better things. People today are concern about outer look rather than content. Asam Laksa A or B, I bet you choose the B, because it look beautiful and we expect it is delicious too! Slipper A or B, you going to choose B, because it look unique and the colour look nice compare to A. People choose the best things if they are afford to do so such as choosing a comfortable bed, instead of the iron double decker bed. Why people choose to undergo plastic surgery then? I am not agree with everyone should do plastic surgery to look better. But,  if someone who really need plastic surgery to have better lifestyle why not choose to be looking better? It is the freedom of your choices. Same things apply to cyber world, if you not able to accept some things you see or read, you may just ignore it, like the items A you ignore at the beginning, instead of posting a comments that may create hatred among the publics.
